The St Joseph's Abbeyfield house opened in 1998 and is centrally located close to Glenferrie Rd and High St in Malvern and is an affordable option for seniors on full Centrelink pensions seeking independant and affordable housing.
The Abbeyfield House provides a warm, friendly, supportive and home-like atmosphere and offers residents supported independence, security, respect for individual privacy and companionship.
Each resident has their own bed-sitting room with ensuite bathroom. There is a comfortable communal lounge and dining room where the main meals are served.
Main meals are home-cooked by the live-in housekeeper. The house is managed by a voluntary committee of management.
The Catholic parish of St. Josephs in Malvern provided land to develop an Abbeyfield house as part of its Centenary celebrations. Capital to build the house was provided under the Community Housing Program (CHP). The house was opened in 1998.
Please note: No smoking on the premises and limited car parking.
