A purpose built house located in a growth corridor, funded under the Project Partnership program with a contribution from the Commonwealth government. The land was provided by local government and the project was sponsored by the Lioness Club. The house opened in 1995.
It offers companionable living for 10 older people on low income. It provides an opportunity to live in a small community with privacy, independence and security. You will have your own private, ensuite bed/sitting room, with comfortable and well-appointed communal living areas, laundry and a nice garden. A lifestyle designed to help people stay independent with no worries about maintenance, cooking and household costs. Main meals are home cooked by a full time housekeeper and weekend cook. The Melton house is managed by a dedicated voluntary committee of management.
